Music: Another Game Before Dawn

PIP: I bought a Hi and put three hats on it. Same-day expert.

CLICK: Those are hats. That is a costume.

CLICK: A real hat is bought in the Place step. One hat. Never on the day you arrive.

COACH: C3 again. Yesterday's Hi moved on. Today a new one arrived there.

CLICK: Filed. Underneath: the star-shaped delivery zone. Overruled by the box.

COACH: Fire climbs a staircase. The Hi, then the Hono, then the Kagari.

PIP: Small fire. Then flame. Then watch-fire.

COACH: A promotion happens in the Place step. It costs crystals, not actions.

COACH: One step up, in your own element, once per piece per turn.

COACH: Watch one. A Sjor costs four crystals. A Straumr costs eight.

COACH: Eight take away four leaves four.

CLICK: Pay the gap. One step up.

CLICK: Two hats above a Hi. Never three. No secret fourth-floor elevator.

COACH: A piece that arrived this turn cannot climb today. It waits until next turn.

CLICK: D4: here before this turn. C3: arrived today.

COACH: Our bank has four crystals. This promotion costs four.

COACH: Which Hi can climb the staircase right now?

PIP: One of them is still wearing today's tag. I think that decides it.

COACH: There is no rush on this one. Watch it with me if you would rather.

COACH: The hat settled on the one that was already here. Pip named the tag first.

CLICK: Arrival: today. Promotion: not today.

CLICK: New today. It may walk, hit and collect. It may not climb.

PIP: Then my sign is wrong. New policy. Hats fit the ones who were already here.

PIP: Was that the best four crystals I ever spent?

COACH: That is a different count. Today we only proved it was allowed.

COACH: Metal climbs the same way. The Yan, the Mazask, the Tanka.

CLICK: Stone. Wall. Great.

COACH: Slip a paper strip under each piece with the turn it arrived.

COACH: For every element, tier one to tier two costs four crystals. Tier two to tier three costs eight. A promoted piece can act immediately. There is no fourth tier.

PIP: The two spare hats go in a box. For pieces that were already here yesterday.

COACH: Stop here whenever you like. Next time: who sends our army a bill?
