Keep Your Pieces Safe Rules v2.8 ยท Video version 7 Music: Unequal Routes PIP: Helmet fitted. I am ready for the safety round. CLICK: The helmet is not defense. This video has no answer timer. Take your time. PIP: Then I will answer slowly. Helmet on. CLICK: From the drawer. Proposal: the helmet counts as defense. Overruled. The card says one. COACH: Hello. Somebody wants our Hi. COACH: The Sjor's speed is one. One square, one action. COACH: The Sjor's attack is two. Water beats Fire, so add one. That makes three. COACH: Three damage against defense one. A hit removes the Hi. PIP: Then the Hi steps back one square, to D3. COACH: The Sjor cannot stand on our Hi. It must stop next door, on D4. COACH: That trip is three squares. Three squares is three actions. COACH: Then the hit. Four. CLICK: Four is their whole turn. It fits. CLICK: Count their trip. Then count their hit. CLICK: Their whole turn: four actions. CLICK: Hitting the Hi on D3 would take all four. COACH: Now the Hi stands on D2. Can this Sjor reach it and hit it? COACH: Say it, point at a podium, or take the time and say nothing. COACH: To hit D2, the Sjor must stand on D3. That trip is four squares. COACH: The Sjor arrived beside it, with no action left to attack. So: no. CLICK: The hit would be a fifth action. There is no fifth action. CLICK: Name for the file: the Missing Fifth. COACH: Our Hi has speed two. D4 to D2 was one trip, one action. CLICK: The counting did it. The helmet has filed a complaint. CLICK: The Sjor is standing on D3 now. Next turn it is one action away. CLICK: Four squares. Speed two. Two actions, then the hit. Three. PIP: So D2 was never the safe part. The Sjor's speed was. COACH: One to ask whoever plays with you. Which retreat would you pick, and why? CLICK: Count their trip. Then count their hit. The buzzer stays in the drawer. COACH: Today was plenty. Next time, a clock that resets only when an attack removes an enemy.
